Rangdum

Rangdum is in a valley situated 11,998 ft above the sea level, in an isolated region of the Suru valley in the Ladakh region. On one side are the colorful hills while on the other side are rocky mountains and glaciers, notably Drang-drung.Rangdum is located midway between Kargil and Padum. It is the last inhabited region in the Suru valley.

Hanle river, a short left bank tributary of the Indus River, originates from the northern slopes of the Zanskar range in eastern Ladakh of Jammu and Kashmir. The main stream of the Hanle is formed by two streams, which in turn originates from the glaciers. This stream, which flows towards the north, joins the Indus River near Loma. Hanle has played a major role in shaping the topography of the catchment of the river.
